The Richland R-IV School District is accepting applications for a passionate and student-focused Elementary School Counselor for the upcoming school year. We are seeking an individual committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students through a comprehensive school counseling program.

Position:

Elementary School Counselor (Grades PK–6)

Responsibilities Include:

• Implementing a comprehensive guidance and counseling program aligned with the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program

• Supporting students' academic achievement, career awareness, and personal/social development

• Providing individual and small group counseling as needed

• Assisting students with conflict resolution, behavior management, and social skills

• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success

• Participating in student support team meetings and IEP/504 processes as appropriate

• Coordinating referrals to community services and mental health resources

• Promoting a safe and positive school climate

Qualifications:

• Valid Missouri School Counselor Certification (K–8 or K–12)

• Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related field

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and the community

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
